A Taste of Opera

CONNECTICUT LYRIC OPERA Presents “A TASTE OF OPERA”

A delectable assortment of dishes inspired by operas, composers and famous singers will be served at Connecticut Lyric Opera’s “A Taste of Opera” gala to be held on Friday October 28, 7-10 p.m., at the Mystic Art Center, 9 Water Street, Mystic, CT.

Guests will be treated to a mini-recital of opera selections performed by favorite CLO artists as a preview to the company’s ninth season, which features Offenbach’s LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN, Mozart’s COSI FAN TUTTE and Verdi’s OTELLO. CLO, hailed by The Day’s respected music critic, Milton Moore, as “a musical force” now presents its operas at four Connecticut venues across the state, more than any other company. Both operas will be presented as part of the Opera Series at the Garde Arts Center, New London.

Abundant servings of hors d’oeuvres, entrées, desserts and a variety of wines and non-alcoholic beverages with a connection will be prepared and presented in the manner reminiscent of “The Taste of Mystic” festival. In addition to the scrumptious food and libations, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a number of high-quality items in a silent auction, and to participate in a raffle of extraordinary items from local merchants. Admission is $45 per person, with all proceeds going support CLO’s season, mission and productions.

For tickets or more information, please call CLO at 860-440-3594 or visit CtLyricOpera.org.
