Tian Qin, soprano, was born in Wuhan, China. She brings a wealth of experience in many styles of music to her performances. At a young age, she began studying piano and singing technique with her parents, who are professors in the Conservatory in China. Ms. Qin started her singing career in the world of popular music and musical theater. After she won the highest singing competition “The Sixth Chinese Music Golden Bell Award” in China, and appeared in the “2008 Beijing Olympic Games Series Performances: International Star Concert”, she decided to focus on classical music study. After Ms. Qin received her bachelor degree of Journalism and advertisement in HuaZhong science and technology university, Ms. Qin went to France for operatic training with Tibère Raffalli, and then she came to Boston where she received a Master Degree of Music from Boston Conservatory, and is now pursuing a Graduate Performance Diploma. She is studying with Sara Goldstein, coached by Michael Strauss. The chair of the voice department in the Boston Conservatory evaluated her performance “a master class in energy, commitment, with graceful, gracious stage deportment. And the Shéhérazade was enchanting! Brava!” Tian has performed as Pamina in “The Magic Flute”, as Mimi in “la Boheme”,as Zdenka in “Arbella”, represented Massachusetts State Representative, Jeffrey Sanchez for the Chinese Spring Fling Concert, and has appeared on television and in concerts in China.
