Mezzo-soprano Rachel Abrams has been lauded as a standout for her vivid portrayals, beautiful blend, and dynamic stage presence on operatic and concert stages throughout the United States and Europe. Most recently, she was the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem and Mozart’s Coronation Mass at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich, the alto soloist in Cappella Cantorum’s annual Messiah: Sing or Listen at the KATE, with Teatro Lirico D’Europa’s in their production of Madama Butterfly and as a featured soloist with PANOPERA in their tribute to Jewish Broadway Composers at Sinai Temple in Springfield. She has also performed with Berkshire Opera Festival, MassOpera, NEMPAC Opera Project in Boston, Cambridge Chamber Ensemble, Salt Marsh Opera, Opera Theater of Connecticut, Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Finger Lakes Opera, Lyric Theatre Rochester, Union Avenue Opera, Winter Opera St. Louis, and the St. Louis Symphony as a member of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus. She is thrilled to return to Connecticut Lyric Opera after appearing as Sesto in Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Der Trommler in Der Kaiser von Atlantis, the Third Lady in The Magic Flute, and Ida in Die Fledermaus. She has been a young artist with the National Music Festival, Finger Lakes Opera, the Nahant Music Festival, Connecticut Lyric Opera, Winter Opera St. Louis and Opera Classica Europa in Bad Schwalbach, Germany.
